Hillary Clinton, her highness of moral excellence, announced today that she is going to be sponsoring legislation that will toughen the penalty for those who sell mature video games to minors. This is in response to the recent revelation of a mod to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, called Hot Coffee, which is a mini game containing explicit sex scenes. I think Hillary Clinton has it all wrong on this issue.

Hillary Clinton thinks that the answer to children playing Grand Theft Auto and a whole lot of other violent video games is to pass another piece of legislation. Minors have had no problems getting the game in the past why does she think that a stiffer monetary penalty is going to be much of a deterrant. If i had to guess, I bet she could care less about violent video games. She is using this oppurtunity to pander towards conservative groups to prepare for her run for the White House in 2008.

Why did she make an issue of Grand Theft Auto now? Why didn’t she make an issue of the game when it was released? Did Hillary Clinton think the game was perfectly harmless before the game mod came out?

I have played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, parts of me regrets that I did. In the game, you go out and kill opposing gangsters, break into houses, find hookers, kill cops…does this sound like a game that James Dobson would put his seal of approval on?

Where are the parents? Parents should be the ones keeping this game out of the hands of kids.

Hillary Clinton should be calling out the churches and non-profit organisations to join with her to get kids away from games like Grand Theft Auto. I belong to a Christian Men’s organization called Promise Keepers. Promise Keepers should issue a statement saying that real men, Christian men of integrity, should steer clear of games like Grand Theft Auto.

When did it become the responsibility of the government and public schools to instill values and morals into our culture and the not the family or the church?
