Google’s Blogger Beta Adds Intuitive Layout Features
I just saw that Google has released a new beta of Blogger, their blogging service. I went in and created a new blog to test it out.
At first blush, the changes didn’t seem to be too significant. I then made my way to the new layout editor. It has drag & drop functionality. A user can easily move layout items around the page. I am impressed.
It is also very easy to add new elements to the page. A user can just pop in third-party scripts, which is useful for adding things like counters to a blog or the many little widgets and badges you can find. This is something that A LOT of people I know have problems with on other blogging platforms.
Blogger Beta as a whole just seemed to be very speedy, which makes me happy. Previously it really dragged when it came to publishing a change to my layout. Maybe this will change when more people start using it.
It is also nice that I can login using my Google Account.
I am glad to see the continuing move to innovate and move forward.
