Note: I am in no way supporting the stalking of people. The title of this post was purely for humor.

In my web client/server programming class this morning, we were learning how to make extensions for Mozilla Firefox.

The guy who gave the presentation showed off an extension that an RIT Computer Science major developed, called MyFace. In the course management software that we use, MyCourses, there is an option to get a list for all the students in that class.

MyFace adapts the page and puts an icon by the student’s name. If you click on the icon, it does a search for that person in Facebook. For those of you who may not know, Facebook is a college (and now high school) social networking site.

The big joke in class was that MyFace would be great for stalkers. In all seriousness, this extension is great because it solves the “What was his/her name” problem. Facebook profiles usually have photos in them.

I am bad with names from time to time. If I am not interacting with someone in that class on a regular basis, it is hard for me to remember their name. This makes it easier to find out names and faces.
