Is it true that National Association of Realtors (NAR) is getting ready to crackdown on member blogging?

The real estate industry in the United States has embraced blogging in a major way and has done it with such gusto that their online efforts are starting to make waves.

I just read this post by New Hampshire Realtor and real estate trainer Monika McGillicuddy who writes about the National Association of Realtors (NAR) next month might adopt standards for its members which could put a big crimp on real estate blogging.

Online real estate communities are popping up like dandelions in springtime in Michigan and there’s a real network of of discussions about all kinds of issues and opportunities related to the industry.

Will real estate brokers soon start telling their agents they can’t blog?

Anybody know more about the concerns and the background behind this pretty bold move to seemingly shutdown what has been a breath of fresh air in the business world?
